Pre-Installation Checklist

Step-by-Step Installation

Power Off & Safety

Turn off power at the circuit breaker and use a voltage tester to confirm power is off. Lock the breaker or place a warning sign to prevent accidental power-on during installation.

Mark Mounting Points

Hold the fixture in position and mark drilling points. Ensure the fixture is level and positioned for optimal light distribution. For outdoor installations, ensure water will drain away from connections.

Drill & Mount

Drill holes at marked points using appropriate bit size. Insert wall plugs if needed. Secure the mounting bracket or base using provided hardware. Ensure mounting is firm and stable.

Wire Connections

Connect wires according to the wiring diagram (see below). Standard color coding:

  • Brown/Red: Live (L)
  • Blue: Neutral (N)
  • Yellow/Green: Earth/Ground (⏚)

Use appropriate connectors and ensure connections are tight and secure. Apply silicone sealant around cable entry points for weatherproofing.

Attach Fixture

Carefully attach the light fixture to the mounting bracket. Ensure all seals and gaskets are properly positioned. Tighten all fasteners securely but avoid over-tightening.

Test & Verify

Restore power at the circuit breaker and test the fixture. Verify proper operation and check for any loose connections. Ensure no water can enter the fixture housing.

Standard AC Wiring

BROWN (L) ──────→ Live/Phase
BLUE (N) ──────→ Neutral
YELLOW/GREEN (⏚) ──→ Earth/Ground

Always verify wire colors match your local standards. When in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

Best Practices for Installers

Cable Management

Route cables to prevent water accumulation. Use cable glands and ensure downward cable entry where possible. Leave service loops for future maintenance.

Weatherproofing

Apply silicone sealant to all cable entry points and mounting holes. Ensure gaskets are clean and properly seated. Check IP rating requirements for the installation location.

Multiple Fixtures

When installing multiple fixtures, plan the circuit load carefully. Use appropriate cable gauge for the total load. Consider using junction boxes for easier maintenance.

Documentation

Keep product datasheets and certificates on file. Document installation date and configuration. Provide end-user with maintenance instructions and warranty information.
